About The Author:

Ashley-Jayne Osborn is a nineteen-year-old aspiring music journalist from Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is currently studying Communication at Brigham Young University-Idaho in Rexburg. After college, she has hopes to write for a major music publication and eventually live in Portland, Oregon. She is a lover of classic films, a goofball and a wordsmith, and is notorious for being intensely kind-hearted by all who know her. 

 She has been writing since she was 9 years old.

“Vinyl Sea Press is a weblog that began when seventeen-year-old Ashley-Jayne Osborn stayed out too late on a school night so she could interview one of her favorite bands. With no professional knowledge on how to do so, AJ was taking an absolute risk. Her personality and zest for the new experience carried her successfully through that interview, and she came home that night to write about it on what was then a personal blog. It was that risk that led her beautifully (and bumpily) to what you see today, nearly three years later. 

Since that night, Vinyl Sea Press has endured a name change, a refocus of content, and countless layout changes — gaining a steady following all the while. Its metamorphosis has left it with content and visuals as beautiful as a new butterfly spreading its wings for the very first time. 

Although the years have passed since Ashley-Jayne first spread her own wings, she still acknowledges that she has far to fly. 

“Both Vinyl Sea Press and I always have room to grow. I’m constantly scheming new ideas and directions I can go with VSP. There will never come a day in which I decide that this project is through or has gone far enough. I plan to be infinite and consistently improving,” she said. 

Vinyl Sea Press is currently updated weekly and will be frequently updated in the fall season of 2012, when Ashley-Jayne will accompany SLEEPER/AGENT on tour for a month as both a friend and journalist.”
